In a last-ditch effort to recover and repopulate, a surviving faction of human scientists and engineers,
now extinct, used their scrambled-together technology to create a hidden, rogue AI.
At regular intervals, this AI transports four individuals to a new world through the Portal Trials.

Wisdom and Knowledge, Courage, Humanity, Justice, Temperance, and Transcendence.
